5thed or 6thed or whatever it is — their best yet. C'mon, Noel, "Everlasting Light" rules.

The last time I saw a trailer so good it guaranteed I'd see the movie, it was for Shutter Island.

I generally don't like to revel in my dislike for something, but I will always make room to enjoy some quality Korine hating.

Beat The Devil = GOLD
Billy Dannreuther: I've got to have money. Doctor's orders are that I must have a lot of money, otherwise I become dull, listless and have trouble with my complexion.
Gwendolyn Chelm: But you're not like that now, and you haven't any money.
Billy Dannreuther: It's my expectations that hold me

Meatballs 4
Kelly Peterson: Look, this isn't working. Some movie star you are.
Ricky Wade: I was in Goonies.

Right, and for what it's worth, although I'm no lawyer, I side with the band's argument.

Bands v. Labels
Interesting that both this and the OK Go thing this week are framed in the "Band vs. Label" context, when in both cases the self-serving policies of the the service provider is the real "culprit."

Business Time
"The K & D Sessions," as long as you can get over the cognitive disconnect of gettin' it on to music made by a guy named Dorfmeister.

Point Blank FTW!

I'll never forgive Hollywood
for killing Hooch.

"Who Could Win A Rabbit?" was my intro to AC, too. And I hated it, along with the rest of "Sung Tongs," and then "Feels," and didn't even bother with "Strawberry Jam."

The Late DFW
Not a wall-to-wall winner, but I thought "Oblivion" contained some of his best writing. 'The Suffering Channel' in particular, though re-reading 'Good Old Neon' shortly after his death was absolutely heartbreaking.

I just don't get why I'm supposed to "look past the memorable lines I've quoted my whole life" to see that it isn't a great movie. They're memorable lines because they were well written and well delivered by great comic actors, which is what makes the movie work in the first place.

Seconded. And I think that's what makes his stuff so adaptable to film - the ideas are all there for some interesting philosophical Sci-Fi, but the execution is so horrible that there's no compelling reason to be completely faithful to the source material.

Har Mar Superstar : R&B :: Matisyahu : Reggae

He'll remember that number!
In a way I'm glad they won't spend a whole Last Season making a spectacle out of the man, although I'll certainly tune in for the inevitable tribute.

So which
character in "8 1/2" was he?

x100,000,00 on The Apartment.

Not to mention his turn as a singing John Adams in the greatest musical ever. Giamatti's got shit on that.
