That's exactly how I related it too - I can only read comics in trade form now as they're just way too serialised and there's too much narrative decompression. I find TV different in that at least there's something of a story-of-the-week in conjunction with long term narrative function and mythology building.

I agree. I vote for a sequel lasting 15 seasons called How I Dated Your Mother, followed by eight years of How I Convinced Your Mother to Marry Me. Because surely the relationship between Ted and The Mother will have all sorts of bumps in the road, mostly because Ted puts them there.
