I would definitely say 2.5 is my favourite of the series, though I loved the goofy soccer match in 2.4 despite it being a bit broad for the show.

I think it is doing a series of limited runs in art-house theatres. The place I went to watch it also screens the Met HD tapes, so maybe that's something to look out for.

I've only seen parts of the John Doyle/Esparza revival, but based on what I've seen I would say this most recent one is a lot better, but then the whole cast members with instruments thing wasn't really for me on a conceptual or aesthetic level.

I would say at least power through the first 4 or 5 episodes of season 3 as well. Those four or five episodes are probably the best arc the show ever did.
