While we are talking about NewsRadio, I think Archer bears more than a passing similarity to certain aspects of NewsRadio. Particularly the zany workplace sitcom, with a screwbally pace and decidedly surreal tone. Sure, Archer has sex, but they are still similar.

I think that you perfectly summed up my feelings about season 3 of Parks and Rec. It might be that I was late on discovering the show, and therefore didn't wait as long for it to come back, so I'm not thinking about the show the way I would have if I had been waiting months for it to come back.

Yeah, and Season 5 really suffered. I loved the first 4, but couldn't get through 4 episodes of 5. The problem for me was that it was a show so dependent on it's rhythm and character relationships, and without Phil Hartman a key element of the show was gone.

I think I am a small minority here
but I didn't care for this episode very much at all. I think Ron and Tammy worked the first time because Tammy was unpredictable, but still vaguely grounded to reality. This episode, you expected that Tammy would do crazy shit, and they went too far with the crazy shit as a result,

You know what would have really been great?
Trip's new friend doing the truffle shuffle.

Is it just me
or does Archer seem like NewsRadio with sex sometimes? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the strength of the ensemble, and the rhythms of the dialogue seem very similar. I also know that there is no overlap between the two shows in terms of writers, but they still have similar rhythms,

I have eaten a variation of that with orange juice instead of bread. The extra flavour actually works pretty well.

Bad Nachos
My twin brother has this disgusting way of making nachos. He uses a basic mixture of corn chips, baked beans and cheese, and then proceeds to put it in a bowl, with the cheese practically covering everything. It looks truly horrific, much moreso than it sounds.

Do you get Screeners for Community?
If you do, do the episodes start to move into solid "A" territory, instead of the very funny but a touch undercooked episodes of the last couple of weeks.

I'm suprised they haven't done one yet, with all the suggestions for it. It's a great TV show, and would be very easy to write a lot about.

Let's not forget David Chase as the Executive Story Editor.

I agree about the mini-roll, but after the abysmal "Donnie Fatso" followed by the even more terrible Christmas episode the Simpsons had nowhere to go but up.

I agree with your A- sentiment. I was thinking it could be an A before the ending, which but it down a point in my eyes.

For me, and I probably should have put this at the beginning, The Wire is 1, Deadwood so far (I'm halfway through season 2) at 2, and The Sopranos at 3.

HBO "Holy Trinity"
Out of the three (The Wire, The Sopranos, and Deadwood), which do you prefer and why?

I forgot to mention this earlier, but Trip could be the Bucky to The Cape's Captain America, or the Jason Todd to his Batman. Sure would be an interesting twist, and he is practically being groomed for it by the psychologically scarring conversations that take place on the roof.

The Cape drinking game ideas
I think the most obvious one would be to drink whenever somebody says "The Cape", or a pun related to either him or Chess. I counted about 10 iterations in the first two acts, so it would be a pretty heavy-drinking game.

Conversation-starter TV: Shows Everybody's heard of.

My New Year's Resolutions
1. Finish Empire magazines top 500 films list (300 to go).
2. Read more books
3. Finish Deadwood (hasn't really grabbed me yet, I'm 5 episodes in)
4. Play more video games.
