Magic Man at the end of "Son of Mars" did seem to go back on his jerk ways by helping Finn. Maybe it was a promise not to mess with Finn and Jake's lives anymore because by making there lives worst it did not make Magic man's life any better. The same lesson Finn learned at the end.
