That's a good point- I agreed with someone else about how condescending it was standing on it's own, but that background certainly added an extra level to it that could've been expanded upon. I guess the "there was no overlap" tried to cover for that?

The final shot is Pam and Jim in their car, her mouth agape. Jim turns to the camera, gives a goofy-smirk and shrug, and then the shot freezes, 80's-movie style as the credits roll.

Hey, has anyone been waiting for some kind of follow-up from Kevin's Shining Moment of Awesome a few weeks back after calling-out the (State) Senator? I'm sure we'll get some kind of resolution to the Angela-Senator-Oscar Triangle, but that was a GREAT moment that really needed some follow-up

It's been, what, barely a week for him. Sure, he'd been gone for 3 months from their perspective and has been a douche since, but that was pretty cold and a total lack of empathy on his part. Especially if we're not mentally retconning all of last season (if only) and all of that pining and effort in getting her back

I thought she was at least receptive to the idea of the job in a higher-ranked position since she realized that she had more than enough experience in dealing well with a Michael-type as a boss. Heck, given the total apathy evidenced by the others, she probably saw an easy transition into that de-facto #2 Office

Gotcha… you might not have even given this season a chance after that last one. This episode is off the top of my head better than anything we saw last year, and Andy's evil behaviour in one of the episodes last year was arguably worse than last night, so it's been put in perspective….

Good point about Pam balking at the change- her surprise at waiting 'til 8 to head over was evidence of this, but that was the first time I've noticed that.

Well I'm living here in Allentown…

Well, it's possible someone's been up there before. Be no way of knowing, really.

Yeah, her reactions were more than enough, but even if they felt the need to have a talking head, a simple moment of speechlessness followed by (at most) a gasp of "You've GOT to be kidding me!?" would've been so much better.

After all of last season, NOW is the time when you've had enough?

I always suspected Gabe, but that would be a nice touch…

For all of the piling on Jim's dickishness in recent weeks, I'm glad to see some attention in the comments to Pam's unwillingness to make the move, based on her newly-discovered love of Scranton, Dunder-Mifflin and her coworkers. Yes, she's settled in, but after her conversation with Daryl after his botched interview

I agree- I was a little surprised she went that way with it, because if it ever gets discovered, which could be likely since Isaac maybe knows Michael NotScott (he set the interview up, right?) and follows up and learns that Pam turned it down- then the conversation is no different than what it would've been. Instead

I wasn't aware of the rights issues with Ed- I was a big fan of that show. There really were a lot of great actors/actresses who crossed through Stuckeyville at various points.

I wish I didn't get all of the "Zero" issues for every single DC title because I thought they'd be collectable.

I know what happens!!!

Are you talking about Noah? He's the only other hearing person I can recall- If I'm not mistaken, he had some other explanation why he was there initially and only revealed later that he was there because he was going deaf.

Actually, I once dropped $75 on the leftovers from a library sale. The woman told me it was a couple-hundred hardcovers, all fiction.  I thought, why not?  It ended up being over 1200 hardcovers. I found a handful to keep, sold or traded about half online and got STUCK with the rest stacked up in a very small

Scrantonicity? Or Scrantonicity 2? Because they are NOT the same band!
