I was hoping that was the direction they were going too. It would be a nice parallel to Castiel's somewhat unfix-able problem.

I always thought Changing channels was better as a chapter in the arc while French Mistake was almost purely a love letter to the fans.

They killed Kripke with a shotgun and called Robert Singer an asshole in that ep. How do you top that?

but if you ignore the (possibly future protective) murder and sabotage, Wells is less manipulative. He at least appears to respect boundaries.

nominally good aligned?

And what is this shows deal with creepily manipulative good guys? Waller seems to be fostering an equally unhealthy relationship with Ollie in the flashbacks. Is this parallel intentional?

Totally agreed. There are so many dream organizations for her in
universe: Star Labs, Argus, Kord Industries. Please give her a
really good justification for willingly putting up
with this stalker garbage, show.

That seemed like a mean spirited poke at genre savvy fans though it could simply be them acknowledging what they are doing may be problematic.

I like to imagine it wasn't just for gratitude. Nearly the entire planet's cops and army died in that battle. Risking the surviving officers to try to arrest a group who just demonstrated the ability to take down a demigod would probably have been unwise.

The alligators then catch fire and explode after consuming her.

She still returns next season, because comics.

I can't remember which fan board I read this from, but, they could easily reveal that he was raised by his mother and took her name, but his father's name and the name on his birth certificate is Stewart. Hell, maybe he'll even become an architect on the GI bill this season.

It was totally Thea. She is the only one who's presence would surprise Canary. And her text was a clear lie.

Thea is my number one pick for the Canary Killer. Her text to Ollie was misdirection.

I thought GL too when I saw that scene. I was wondering if they would surprise us midseason and have Diggle find a strange ring. They'll probably just put him on a bus though.

It's been more than a decade since I've seen the shows, but I don't recall the Jeffersons's ever questioning their blackness and it certainly wasn't central to to the show. I never saw Diff'rent Strokes. What I remember about Different World was that it mostly showcased black diversity and rarely talked about anxiety

The voice-overs in this pilot sucked because most of them were either pure exposition or just explaining the joke. In Everybody Hates Chris the VO was always an expansion to the joke or a new joke that usually also gave insight into the character. I don't think POV makes a VO funnier, good writers do.

If they had more illustrative gags like the tour bus instead of voiceovers, the show would be tops.

The more I think about it, the more it seems lacrosse would be better if only because you don't have to explain the joke.

That would never fly.

To be fair, though, almost everything is toned down compared to boondocks. The writing in this episode is pretty layered and the thesis that racial identity isn't real but the anxiety over it is has yet to be explored at all in a sitcom to my knowledge. And even the boondocks couldn't keep it's racial edge for more
