Yes, and co-writer Maurissa Tancharoen Whedon-by-marriage who actually appeared in one of last weeks episodes as a Doll.

Axl who?
Who is this guy and why should I care?
I think he mis-spelled his own name.

Great list! I would only add:

I am posting to defend "Rend It"… my favorite Piccioto song. It is gut-wrenching and howls like a lunatic diatribe. Sometimes great songs make you cringe.

Arcade Fire? that track sounds like Tripping Daisy to me…
… you know, the band Tim Delaughter was in before Polyphonic Spree.

comic book-based films were doing so well…
… for awhile at least.

Heigl a prude?
It was probably the limitation of Heigl's contract but the character she portrays leaves her bra on during the sex scenes. Since this rarely happens in real life, it totally took me out of the humorous realism the film had been maintaining otherwise. American actresses.. stop being prudes!

and don't forget Chicken Farm by Dead Kennedys
The story of Central American immigrants making their way north-away from amoral governments that brutalize and murder dissenters-toward America where they are merely harassed or totally ignored. Aaaah.. freedom.

Stan Ridgway should be on this list somewhere!
Call of the West is the best story he told when with Wall of Voodoo. He's been recording solidly since he left that band in 1983 and each of his subsequent albums have two or three narrative gems a piece.

Drink to Bones That Turn to Dust
I recently stumbled across an excellent tribute album called Drink to Bones That Turn to Dust: A Toast to Oingo Boingo.
