Well…technically she does mention her birth mother couldn't make it at her wedding reception, but that's the first time we heard about her since the episode where she had phoebe take care of her cat which was about 6 seasons before.
I always thought that Friend did well establishing its main cast, but it really sucked in building storylines branching off them with other characters. Side characters who really should've had an impact are just tossed aside for no point at all.

Having never really liked Superman as a character, the general reinvention displayed by the trailers for Man of Steel has really appealed to me. I'm open to reboots if they can do the same.
