Well, ABC has had exactly two comedy series I've loved in the past decade. And they were both cancelled this season. I guess in the future, I should stick with cable, NBC, and the occasional weird exception on FOX (aka, New Girl).

To each their own. I'd say we're talking about a mediocre episode in one of the best seasons of a pretty good show that probably still wouldn't make a top 50 list of the funniest shows of all time.

I don't claim to have seen every show on broadcast tv this past season, but I'd say Happy Endings and Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23 both got away with more dirty gags than New Girl did. Of course they're both not coming back next season so maybe they don't qualify.
