They sure were something back then. I saw them on their first trip to the west coast and it was one of the few times a band lived up to e.p.-hype. They were electric!
Fever to Tell really captured what a great act they'd become, but it cemented them there forever. I wish them all the best, but if I ever think YYY I'll

This era of hip hop shall never die. Growing up in the 90s it seemed corny but these days I'll take any 1979 - 1989 hip hop if a party needs rocking.

This sounds right up my alley! I'm going to devour this!
Any NY AV Clubbers know of anything going on tonight? I'm going to be in town for one night tonight and have no idea what's going on/what to do.

I have the same argument, although the new vinyl issue of Bivuoac knocks off the bogging ep tracks in the center. Now it's a matter of do I want to be moody and cathartic or do I want to be moody and cathartic and upbeat?

I was able to catch Thorns of Life when they came out to LA but I didn't get a chance to chat with Blake. I live vicariously through you good sir!

So happy to bask in the AV Club / Jawbreaker love!
I've been thinking about this same thing since the Forgetters album came out. Became a Jawbreaker fan after hearing Fireman on a KROQ comp in 1996. Was a big Jets to Brazil fan (wrote so many terrible papers about Orange Rhyming Dictionary) and followed Blake through

Agreed. Even the slighter songs get mightier all these years later. Boat on a Hill means so much more to me now than it did in high school.

I know you're just pudding, but I agree- HUGE Jawbreaker fan and I just don't like that song! Never understand why everyone loves Chesterfield King but no one loves PS New York is Burning!

Great Random Roles! I ran into Corey Feldman at the 3rd Warped Tour (first time in Irvine) back in the mid 90s. Ran up to him, gushing! Had no idea he was in a local band and I'd be seeing him at every Homegrown show over the next three years!
Things were so different pre-surreal life, pre-celeb reality. Corey Feldman
