I always thought it was "Be quiet, be quiet" too.

Mazel tov!

Took my kid to see Jurassic Park 3D, even though we've both seen it at least a half dozen times already. Still fun, though, and I enjoyed telling her about the differences in the book (way more violent, Malcolm dies, Hammond, rather than being a benevolent grandfather, is a total bastard who also dies).

Semi-serious question: are there any comedians who didn't have miserable childhoods?

I've been saying for years that Tom Waits needs to do a cover of "Lullaby." How can we make this happen?

Mine too!

The number of gag Twitter accounts far exceeds the necessity of them.

I also found it a little baffling a couple weeks ago when Richard claimed he didn't know how to design a men's dress shirt.

Yeah, someone on my FB feed thought it necessary to point out that Ebert apparently held a conservative opinion on abortion (which I never knew, but whatever), and that that alone made him someone whose death shouldn't be mourned. Even if he hated someone's last six movies, if he liked their next film, he'd say so, and he never seemed to go into a movie expecting to give it a hatchet job later, like a lot of critics do. I thought of that almost as soon as I heard the news of his passing, especially Jay Sherman floating outside Ebert's apartment in a jet fighter. "Hi, guyyyyyyyyy."

Wonderfully done, Scott.

I was just saying to someone that if it wasn't for Roger Ebert, I would have never heard of Dark City, and it's now one of my favorite sci-fi movies.

FUCK.

Wow, I am genuinely surprised that this sounds pretty good.

Blade was entertaining in a shitty sort of way.

This song is all things.

OK, I love this column, but this one was particularly empty. Any interviewee that can't come up with a better reason for not liking a song than "it was so popular" should be immediately discounted.

It was in Look Who's Talking as well. I'm…really disturbed that I remember that.
