Nice write-up, Noel.

@Ficta:

stackenblochen, I think that's what Ewing is saying, yes, but I think we, the readers, are supposed to bring our knowledge of what will come when we read Ewing. And the irony is that the roles, and the races, will ultimately be reversed in Sloosha's time.

One of my favorite bits of intertextuality
is Cavendish's offhand reference to Soylent Green, which pays off so wonderfully in Sonmi's section.

Speaking of new fetishes…
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Don's the only one with a new fetish.

I would absolutely love to be able to have a conversation about Paul Auster's New York Trilogy, which are the strangest detective novels I've ever read.

Not exactly a sports movie…
but The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner seems like another contender for this list.

Speaking of rockabilly, I'd love to see a Gateways to Geekery on it, if there hasn't been one already.

But if it WERE a classics line:

classic* line. Fuck all of you preemptively.

Re: Jawless, you can't tell me Shooter isn't tongue-in-cheek.

Shooter (repress your gag reflex)
Hey, ease off on Shooter!

Gotta say
This has absolutely nothing on the cover of Ghostdeini: Wizard of Poetry.

I just saw Aziz
do stand-up and a Q&A at Yale. I wanted to ask him where's the strangest place he, not RAAAAAAANDY!, ever received a BJ, but I was too chicken.

Oh, but I guess "Death is not the End" was never a hit. Retracted.

Don't forget
Nick Cave's cover of Bob Dylan's 'Death Is Not The End.' Cave takes it and, without changing a word (I think), reverses its meaning: death will not be the end of all the misery and bloodshed from the rest of Murder Ballads—it'll follow you into the afterlife.

Yeah, but
what about this:

Oh come, that scene had its humor. Whilst raping the woman Ben offers to let one of the crewmembers take his place, and the guy does one of those "Oh, I couldn't possibly!" shrugs before he nods, "Aw, okay" and joins in.

Are you thinking of Caligula?

Bullshit! I'm interested!
