"Atlantis is basically Merlin but that's no knock."

Sizzle, you're an amazing unique butterfly on the AV Club and don't let anyone change you!

The 8th Doctor is actually totally fantastic in his many audio dramas, the problem is he only had 2 appearances on the show itself, and one was a 7 minute short. Kind of hard to compare.

You better hope not, the PTC hates moral ambiguity!

It's a fun (if rarely consistent) show filled with childlike wonder, adventure and great performances. I don't really see the Lost comparison (unless you're complaining about Moffat's crazy plotting, which is only a factor in three of it's MANY seasons), what's not to like?

But at least they were all there!

I think that's what Fox was pushing for it to be at first (and judging from it's drop-off in ratings that's perhaps what the mass audience wanted as well) but the creator of the show has said many times that she conceived it as an ensemble and ZD wasn't even cast when she wrote the pilot.

And Tom Baker's grounded humanity.

City of Death was my gateway into to older Who, great dialogue from Douglas Adams, minimal special effects and a fun story. From there I'd say Ark in Space if you want to stick with 4 or The Mind Robber if you want to go older (my favorite 2nd Doctor story). All of these are on Netflix.

LOVE Spare Parts.

What do you think of "Dark Eyes"? I just started it and am impressed so far.

1— 11, 4, 2
2—10, 8, 5
3— 1, 3, 8
4— 7*, 6

I checked out his audio dramas immediately and am really liking them, currently enjoying "Dark Eyes". Anyone have more recommendations?

I thought that was actually well-written though and gave us some interesting insights into the Doctor's motivations whereas this was a lame one-note joke.

But it also wasn't multicam like this.

I tried to withhold judgement for awhile until I'd really had a chance to browse through everything but yeah…this is not working for me. I just went to the Buffy/Angel page (which as far as a can tell I have to type into the search bar now, not just my list of followed shows) and it's a mess. Many reviews are missing

Why did I click on this when I knew it'd just make me angry? Why?!

I'm actually really looking forward to it.

And I read that 10 minutes after you posted it!

Thanks! I'll check that out.
