Moms can strip too.

Jesse's Been Working For the Drug Squad.

I have heard the Watt cover, but thanks for the tip on the live version.

I would  add The Blasters' Non-Fiction to the list. Playing may be a bit more polished than the records preceding it. But it has  some of Dave Alvin's finest compositions on it.

Talking about Toronto area new wave in 1983: Falling by Blue Peter with their big hit "Don't Walk Past".

Is it uncool to like "Burnin' for you" by BOC? Aw fuck it, I like "Burnin' For You" by BOC.

I also liked how the UK and US singles of "Perfect" on Soul Mining differed, The UK single was mainly synth-based, while the American version had the bluesy harmonica playing of David Johansen running through it.

Even though they were co-ed, I would throw the Au Pairs in there too.

Talking about Stan Ridgway,  I only heard "Camouflage" recently after a long time  and man, did I like that song years ago.

My father had Hand of Kindness. I don't know how many times I heard "Two Left Feet" growing up. Surprised the Pogues never covered it.

Needed to do something when he wasn't flirting with Paula Yates on The Tube.

An unheralded 1983 album: Pictures On A String by Comateens.

Big fan of Soul Mining by The The. Soul Mining is one of my favourite albums of the 80s. And Jools Holland's piano on "Uncertain Smile" may be the best thing he's ever done.

When it came to film critics, John Simon was quite the gasbag himself. But he did write a nicely scathing piece on Rex reed titled "Why Reed Can't Write". Worth the read…

Or you can just watch Andy introducing Slim on the Midnight Special and watching him from the side of the stage.

SCTV's musical parody of Evita - "Indira" w/ Andrea Martin as Indira Gandhi & Joe Flaherty as Slim Whitman as Che. http://www.youtube.com/watc…

I'm confused to why Peggy is freaked out by the rat when she's already slept with Pete before.

Pete's going to be really conflicted when Bob shows up at the next office Halloween party dressed as an au pair.
