Art Garfunkel/Paul Simon
I always think of music critic Rob Sheffield's comment on the Simon-Garfunkel split and how in the custody battle Art Garfunkel got the hair, the voice and the honour of starring in Sherilyn Fenn's finest film Boxing Helena. And Paul Simon got the songs.

And We'll Paint a Perfect Lil Jewfro Right Here….
….sorry but the late Bob Ross gets my vote for best Jewfro Nathan.

James Whitmore…
…has died.

8-track even

In his honour, Kid Rock had sex with a midget groupie in the back of his pick-up while blasting "Free Bird" from the 8-tack player

Didn't His Bobness already sell his soul to the J-Man already in the early 80s? Or is Will.I.Am the second coming? This story confuses me.

You mean it just wasn't a Serge Gainsbourg/Brigitte Bardot song?

Still waiting for that bitchin' live version of "Crackerbox Palace", Isis?

John Martyn
A British singer-songwriter who is really ripe for re-discovery in North America. I'd recommend his early 70s albums Solid Air and Inside Out as good places to start. The title track for Solid Air was written after the passing of his friend Nick Drake.

I throw my two cents in the Tender Prey corner. Both "Mercy Seat" and "Deanna" are great tunes and the band is tight. Also I would recommend The Firstborn is Dead — "Tupelo" is a wicked original and "Wanted Man" a strong Dylan cover.

And the award for Actor Playing Character most Similar to Pilgrim's Friend Matt goes to….

Are you referring to The Fall with Brix or without her?

if you like 13….
…..maybe you should rent "alpha dog".

Thanks for the answer.

Who was the actor…..
…playing the magician on last night's episode? He looks awfully familiar (maybe similar to a younger Richard E. Grant) but I couldn't figure out where I had seen him before and I missed his name in the credits.

…why am i reminded of the kids in the hall skit where the guy tries to defend himself against liking the anal sex scenes in deliverance and last tango in paris by being a film buff?

Now that Jerry Orbach has passed on, I would have to say Steve Buscemi has moved to the top of my list.

…but due out is the 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition for that other Sly Classic "Over the Top". Never has there been a more thrilling, breathtakingly shot film on that timeless subject of arm wrestling.
