When I thought of "bad date movies" I immediately thought of "Star 80".  I wasn't on a date seeing it.  It was a group of freshman college boys and girls and I think we all walked away still divided boys and girls. Not looking at each other.

I'm sure I will enjoy watching it when it eventually gets on TV.  I think of Burroughs in space opera sci-fi pretty much in the same place that I think of Lovecraft in fantasy - they are ancestors that I am grateful existed, but even more grateful were filtered through a couple of generations before I got to the genre.

I think he's still in danger of his mind being so open that his brain falls out.  But these upcoming movies don't sound so bad.  At least there's no mention of that Jack the Giant-Killer one.
