I don't know about the business model of Amoeba, but as a customer I can say it's a different experience from both big box (though it is quite a large box) and small independent stores. It recycles physical media efficiently. It will pay you for your old stuff probably at least as much as you could get at a garage

@Consistency is Overrated Because they're claiming to be artists when it suits them, with messages and shit. This is the cost of that business.

He said he was a plagiarist. I read that part.

The Magical Negro God was awkward? That was the nicest version of God they ever made. And still you complain.

This is wrong.

There's that fabled eloquence.

I don't want to blow the shit of you, Lobsters, whatever that means to you. No matter how long I live in California, I will always be from Texas. I lived despite saying the kind of things I always say, and got to move away. That was forbearance on the part of the shitkickers at the table, combined with crazy

Aw, now I'm dumb as a lawyer.

Is =/= your idea of how to talk to nerds? It's not !=, counselor.

I'm sure I'd like a Tarantino Western. But it shouldn't be about John Brown, or at all about slavery. His movies, no matter how brilliantly he lays them out, all take place in his head, with all the characters speaking in his voice. It's a lot of fun. But it doesn't belong near the Holocaust or slavery. His head

(accidentally posted prematurely) I AM SICK OF YOUR TIRED SHIT. I WILL MEET YOU WHEREVER YOU CHOOSE WITH JUST MY USUAL KNIFE.

Nobody heard about Patrick Rothfuss'
offer to go in on buying the rights to Firefly with Nathan Fillion? The lines of communication between geeks are not what one would expect. But I don't think the weak link is money, it's Whedon.

I guess I'm thinking for one thing of the episode with the table of chefs. Couldn't that have gone somewhere more interesting, or somewhere at all?

If there's a chance that he can make the restaurant stuff better, good. I expected to like that part better, but it was pretty dull.

Whew
Red Carpet show has begun on time after Lakers win, potential overtime and dress-watching delay averted.

They're hydrogen airships, not helium blmps. You can tell by how much they lift.

I@Art Deco I'm still watching (West Coast), but this is totally the late '70s, not the mid '80s

@Sean O'Neal My precious Google allowed me to determine, as I thought I remembered, that there is an entirely separate from Jack and the Beanstalk fairytale called Jack the Giant Killer. Whether the studio flacks that Hollywood Reporter talks to know that, or which the movie is based on, is arguably arguable.

Yeah, google, restart.
