I'd love to see a study on the kinds of projects that are successfully funded on kickstarter/indiegogo/others. How many of them actually go through to completion, how many of them are of any actual artistic quality, how many people have enjoyed the fruits of those works, and so on.

I had to listen to a line of reasoning recently about the progressive march towards a benevolent police state where everything everywhere is recorded at all times. One of the person's main points was "Privacy’s a pretty recent thing".
