Spent about 10 hours yesterday playing Lego with the kids. The kids dropped out after about 2 hours, so it was really just me playing Lego by myself.

Thanks, now I'm going to have Something For The Weekend in my head all day.

As much as I loved Dragon Quest IX, it kills me that unless you were ready to sink 100's of hours into grinding, there would be no way to get everything. Also, I hate games that add items you can only get with a social component (i.e. spotpass). No other adult I know (at least locally) plays these games. What am I

William Hughes - I call it being a completist (an affliction I suffer from as well). JRPG's are the worst, spending hours chasing down less powerful armor, or rare monster encounters, just so that a box will get checked on a list.

They were once great, so feel free to keep talking.

Hugo actually does a spectacular job with its 3D.

It the AV Club equivalent of giving a product a one-star review on Amazon because the item got broken during transport.

Star Wars twice. 4.5 out of 5. Arkham Knight to try to get 100%. Starting a re-watch of Parks & Rec. And a euchre tournament (probably doesn't count as pop culture, unless kids these days have gotten into euchre in some sort of retro way).

Side note. There are a few films that make excellent use of 3D: Hugo, Mad Max: Fury Road, Polar Express (for its time) and, surprisingly, The Lego Movie.

3D isn't usually my preferred viewing experience, but my daughter couldn't go with us on Friday as planned, so I still need to take her, and she will probably like the idea of seeing it in 3D.

I'm going to see it one more time today. And then probably at least once more, in 3-D.

Those tentacle aliens on Hans salvage ship were pretty weak.

My son had to get rabies shots here in the U.S. at a cost of $17,000 (our insurance covered most of it). It would have cost less than $100 in other countries, meaning we could have taken a week long trip to Asia, gotten the shots there, and it still would have been cheaper.

I just want to remind everyone that as a democracy, we have the power to choose to structure ourselves in a different way.

But that's why I come to the AV Club, so I never have to sift through anything. It's all pure gold.

Busy, but good. Had friends over on Friday, watched some college football on Saturday, and played some Arkham Knight on Sunday. Actually guessed

Close. Other way around. Twice.

Good call on the Jamie xx, and on moving Courtney Barnett up to #2.

I loved World Wide Stout. If you enjoy stouts generally, try Bells' Expedition. It's phenomenal.

I'm about 60% through. Love the game overall, but I suck at driving, so those parts of the game aren't as enjoyable for me. I had to chase Firefly about 3 times on the last round, because I kept losing him. Same with the ATV's. My standard MO for the Batman games is to play through once on easy, and only pick up
