I still enjoy the show, but yes, agreed about the quickly shifting plot. The problem, of course, is that we are four seasons in, and the writers are still trying to convince us that for one reason or another, a once hot IP with the best compression algorithm on the planet is struggling to get past the start-up phase.

Bigly

Good riddance… Erlich has been the most grating character on this show from the get-go. I know we're all supposed to find great humor in his penchant for freeloading, but mostly I just want one of the other characters to beat his ass.

Lynda… U R 2 Cool 2 B 4 got! BECK!!!

Like Sedaris, Rakoff is one of those writers who you have to hear in his own voice. His uniquely dry delivery lends a lot to his humor. I agree that "Comfortable" had some ups and downs. I would recommend trying to get your hands on the audio version of "Fraud".

Oh agreed, 100%… Love the man himself. I hope he lives to be a hundred!

Agreed; It's clear he's doing things like the Paris subway tour to generate material, but it would be cool to see him focus on experiences that are a bit bigger. I think David Rakoff excelled at that type of writing; his observations always felt incisive and true to the source material, while still being clearly

I have loved Sedaris' work for some time, but I feel like he has long ago slipped into that territory that all but the finest artists stumble into eventually… He has run out of real-life experiences to write about, and is now running on fumes - trying to make fun/quirky/profound observations from the point of view of

How do you say refreshment in Spanish? Tecate, in the can, lime wedge, table salt… mmmmmmmm!

Now bitch, how about that sandwich?

Old man weighing in…
I was eight when the movie premiered. My father, a college professor at the time, took two carloads of his students up to Madison WI for my first ever standing in line movie experience. Keep in mind, this was during a time when Youtube and Facebook weren't tools for Hollywood promoters. I think my

Oops, should have scrolled down before putting fingers to keyboard; looks like I'm not even close to being the only one.

Right?! I got to the end of the blurb about premium Slim Jims, and was like, "So what do they taste like?"

Am I the only one that misses the days when this annual event would illicit a 3-4 page article that was equal parts food review and wish you were here? (I miss that same format for SXSW for that matter).

His more recent stuff, yeah. But His earliest solo work, the stuff between his Zappa days and his mainstream rock career, is pretty out there.

It's all good, not an attempt to call you out; I was just happy to see someone else throwing out some love for Steve Vai. I know what you're talking about with the Viv Woman solo. I think it's because Vai goes right for the throat with an opening note that should have broken at least two strings. lol

There's been a few of us Jeeshman. I cited "Call It Sleep" earlier, though Viv Woman is a great one. I also love Attitude Song and the weird solo on Junkie that sounds like it was recorded backwards, but is really just Steve expertly working the tremolo bar.

A great one indeed.

Love me some Santana, but I still crack-up everytime I hear Zappa's

A lot of hipster-ass "anti-guitar-solos" in this thread, so let me throw out a few artists that perhaps need a bit more love on here.
