Where the Spirit Left Us, really? Huh… I think Stay Young, Pink Slips, White, All the Time Every Day, and Down Down the Deep River are the best of the album. Hard to pick though, all great.

I did hear Mermaid and added it to my collection, great song that would have fit right in on IAVF in place of any of those 3 weaker songs I mentioned. Somehow I missed Walked Out on the Line, shit, I'll have to check it out!

As mentioned in another post, Okkervil River is definitely a top 10 (actually probably 5 after this album) band for me. My username and photo probably give that away… But yes, after another great addition to their catalogue, they have cemented their spot.

Spoon. But Okkervil River AND Deerhunter are also both in my top 10, maybe top 5 actually, so you (we) clearly have good taste in indie rock there my friend.

Sadly, due to his appearance he could never be in a boy band or make the hit radio songs the big, pretty pop stars make and had to settle for making really fucking good, creative, meaningful music instead.
