He is risen.
If you're a comedy writer on pop culture for over a decade and now work as a writer on a comedy show, it IS surprising that you don't know a popular comedian on a popular comedic television show that ran for 4 years.
Enemy at the Gates is a goddamn classic.
Sublime is a great band. And I say this as someone who was bombarded with at least 5 Sublime songs a day growing up listening to KROQ in the 90s and was so sick of them by the time I turned 13 that I didn't listen to them for nearly 10 years. 40 Oz to Freedom produced dozens of rip-off bands, Robbin' the Hood showed…
It's not the greatest show, but it's definitely worth watching each week. They ordered a 2nd season the day after the premier so it can only get better.
Iler is one of the most underrated actors on the show. "AJ was a little shit!" Yeah, that was point. Even when he was that little chubby kid with the bowl-cut in season 1, he was making me crack up with his complete ineptness. "Oh! Van Helsing!"
WTF
Why was there no appearance of Carlos the Dwarf?
"The South Park version basically repeats our joke."
Cudi
His 1st album's depressing self-examination and paranoid introspection of himself would've been a lot more interesting if his entire back-story wasn't "Grew up in Cleveland, moved to NYC, worked at American Apparel, got a record deal, and stars on an HBO show."
She's writing an HBO pilot right now
With Apatow. Hope it's better than this movie sounds.
Well, Jeffrey Tambor does have a mustache… So, OK.
MAGNICIFENT.
Larry Sanders Show
A good show.
Seeing Sounds was a hip hop record? I've listened to N.E.R.D's 1st three albums and I don't think I can recall a single hip hop song.
FUCK RUPERT MURDOCH.
TV shows cost money. There is no money. Product placement helps with that. And shows these days (The Office and 30 Rock have tons) do it much better than previous decades. I was watching a special on SNL in the 90s and a sketch where Sen. Clinton talks from her bland vanilla kitchen had a huge bottle of Mountain Dew…
The analogy was that, like Parks and Recreation, the show has transitioned from a really shaky 1st season to a very good 2nd where the laughs keep on coming while the characters have really bloomed. Unless I'm totally wrong and he's comparing the comedic style of a show about 5 dudes who constantly bag on each other…
Jerry Minor
I spent the 1st half of this season thinking "Man, Tim Meadows is KILLING this role!" It's not my fault. I blame the Sisqo hair.
That's one of the most underrated Paulie lines of all time.
They're remaking Fair Game?
The delightful 1995 action-romp starring Billy Baldwin and Cindy Crawford? FINALLY.
