The thing with Ordinary People and Dances with Wolves is that I think they are both excellent movies. I'm glad they won the Oscar because if they hadn't, both of those movies would probably have faded out of the public consciousness, whereas Raging Bull and Goodfellas are doing fine without their stupid Oscar.

This article perfectly captures why I'm so frustrated with the Best Picture nominees this year. There is definitely too much "Everything will work out no matter what you do" in these movies. It even nailed what my problem with Midnight in Paris is. I'm definitely more of a sucker for dark, ambiguous endings. I've

Bah. I've married five different commentators on here. Where's my medal?

Did we cover Raggedy Ann and Andy in The Great Santa Claus Caper? Did I miss it? Or does it suck too much? I can't remember. I mean it is Chuck Jones, after all.

Thank you for this. Also, Stalag 17.

Clearly.

As someone who hates Christmas AND xmas music, there are very few holiday songs I can tolerate. They are:

This is correct.

But it has to be the extra gory version. I wanna hear about Santa's getting a hole shot through his head. I don't care about the going to jail version.

Thanks.

I've seen 12 out of the top 15. I had never even heard of The Arbor.

I don't know why the spacing is weird here.

My top movies of the year:
