Just this weekend
I went to a sci-fi convention and there were a lot of celebrities there signing autographs. I saw a few out and about. But most were contained in their little area. Despite that, you're still really close just passing by. It's kind weird that you've seen this person in however many movies or shows so

River Phoenix and Peter Bogdonovich et al.
The only celebrity I can recall physically touching is River Phoenix. He was in town shooting a movie (his last) and I showed up to watch. I thought he and the director were rehearsing a scene. It turns out they were fighting - unless the "I don't have to fucking be here!"

The Big Fight at the End
I like movies that culminate in a big mano-a-mano fisticuffs. I practically expect it in horror movies and action movies. The more suspenseful, and the outcome less certain, the better. I even like it when it's on a rooftop in the rain.

I have no idea why this posted twice.

Roger's happiness
I can't remember the exact line, but I think after Don points out that Roger's bride is drunk Roger says something like, "My mother always told me not to flout happiness so brazenly. Some people don't approve."

I Don't Have to Wander Anymore
A song by Garth Brooks about some dude throwing himself off a bridge because of a chick. Like a lot of Garth Brooks songs, it's overwrought and overly dramatic, but I like it.

"Goin's Down" is an awesome song. I often wonder if it's about the most serene suicide attempt ever made - or about the most traumatic oral sex ever attempted. It could go either way really.

They included a Pedro the Lion song (Priests and Paramedics) in the inappropriate funeral songs inventory.

C+
I ended up loving this movie a lot more than I thought I would after seeing the C+ review. I haven't seen the original documentary, so this movie would probably pale in comparison, but I got completely swept up in the peace and love atmosphere of the movie. It took me right back to Bonnaroo with its sense of

Final Destination
I really liked the first one. I thought Devon Sawa was really enjoyable in the first one, but none of the following movies have used anyone with half as much personality (which wasn't a heaping helping to begin with).

My favorites of the summer:
Drag Me to Hell
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - I know a lot of people hate this, but I kind of loved how the movies have evolved into big budget mood pieces.
The Hurt Locker
In the Loop
Inglourious Basterds

One of the worst anachronistic jokes ever is in THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST when Jesus builds tall chairs to sit at the dinner table and someone tells him that's craziness.

It always seems that if someone is obviously innocent, there's too much evidence against that person. It's nearly an open and shut case.

The Pushing Daisies voiceover would test my patience with all its keeping track of how many days and minutes someone has been alive, but it usually provided information that was vital to the plot.

Cajun, you're right. Those are totally the same thing.

What's a good example of this? I'm drawing a blank.

With the horror movie one, it depends. As long as it doesn't undermine the rest of the movie in some way, I usually like it.

I saw a making-of documentary on the LOST DVDs that references racking a bullet into the chamber. They refer to it as "the inappropriate cock."

It's usually done best with the speaker is trotting back and forth on horseback in front of the troops.
