That wasn't a result of Malvo's persuasion though. They never brought up Lester's wife, they talked about Sam and how he broke Lester's nose, and left off with Malvo telling Lester that he would kill Sam on his behalf.

Thanks :)
I'm most used to the version that starts with Drive My Car.
I've Just Seen A Face may be my favorite Beatles song. Either that or You've Got To Hide Your Love Away.
But the only thing that separates hype from "over" hype is your own personal opinion of the show. There are several tv shows that I feel are grossly overhyped but I still enjoy them just fine. I don't enjoy them less just because I feel someone else enjoys a show more than it's earned.
That's not true though; the vast majority of the show was driven by Bilbo Baggins murdering his wife and the ensuing coverup. Everything in between was just complications of that.
And yet despite all of that the show still does function as a Lovecraft inspired tale of life influenced by deeply backgrounded cosmic horror. When the heavens open up in the climax we're meant to believe it's just Rust's synesthesia going into overdrive but .. is it?
Except that the quality of television certainly did lapse in the years prior to 2014. Television was pretty terrible for at least a few years there so shows like True Detective and Fargo signaled that we had entered a new golden age — in addition to shows like Hannibal, of course.
Fargo and True Detective don't have…
This line of thinking is all well and good until you realize that you will ultimately miss out on some things that really are the best thing ever and for no good reason.
It's top tier because it used storytelling methods in ways that you usually only see in film. Let's not pretend that this isn't a huge reason that Breaking Bad is popular.
But we don't need to know why. If I had a pressing need to know why then Chigurh's presented motivations wouldn't be enough for me.
While it's true that albums can be adjusted for taste I think space and time need to be dedicated to noting the reality that taste only comes with experience. You didn't adjust the songs for no reason, each one was meticulously chosen just as the tracks for the original albums were. It's not without knowing the…
The most fair criticism I've heard of the song is that it just doesn't fit the tone of the rest of the album; especially considering (I believe) the British release started with Norwegian Wood.
Perhaps if there was a Facebook page for the AV Club comments section I'd throw that a like. Otherwise? No, I don't particularly like the site.
Except that for a good number of these songs, if you skip them, you are a bad person.
Except that song is fabulous.
Maybe the AV Club should just hire better staff.
Uh…
Well, I'm sure times were great, but hopefully your family understands the breakup.
Character? I thought that was a reality show. I didn't actually watch it.
Not that the thinnest of motivations wasn't provided for the character but a lot of his kills we can only assume the most tenuous of connections to a "job" .. which is also at odds with his clear role as symbolic death.
