The Avatar being able to defeat a bloodbender has nothing to do with how effective a bloodbender would be in the place of the Avatar, because there would not be an Avatar.

I think the moral authority of the Avatar is debatable, and a powerful bloodbender is equaly unbeatable. The spirits could just use a powerful bloodbender as their avatar on earth and it would probably work out just as well.

Bloodbending a handful of people on a full moon makes someone dangerous, but they can still be handled at any other time. If someone can bloodbend a roomful of people, anytime, without having to move, then why even have an Avatar?

If Aang had gone into the avatar state (yip yip!) in the courtroom, then he could have handled Yakone as quickly as he did in the street. I don't believe we have heard of any avatars dying young. Roku was an old man, and we know that Kyoshi was the oldest avatar.

The bus got to me too, especially if they only got it for the last day of the campaign. It was way too much. I also thought it was odd that she would ask what the Newports and Sweetums were doing while she was preparing the Harvest Festival. Wasn't Sweetums a major sponsor of that event? The certain elements of the…
I found it odd that Sato did not identify his benefactor. He could owe his entire industry to the Equalists, or to a generous bender.
In my ideal version of Legend of Korra, that is what the show is about. In Aang's day, being a bender guaranteed a certain social status. In Republic City, master firebenders are thugs and factory workers. I'm surprised there is no movement among benders to regain their status in the face of industrialization. If the…
Amon is Asmai's mother.
Or she trains until she's exhausted.
The reporters in this episode were plants. They were paid to force her to join the task force.
Maybe a guru will send her a letter out of the blue and teach her about the avatar state. Yip yip.
That's actually my problem right now. If Amon is going to be the main villain of the series, then I think they introduced him too early. With the confined setting of Republic City (is it a republic?) Having Amon and the Korra fighting already doesn't really leave them anywhere to go. It also raises the question of…
