It woulda saved you time if you'd just said, "I'm smarter than you nerds."

"
the watchmen prequels are not doing anything new."

"The Watchman prequels are just more of what Moore already did"

I think that's a pretty good theory. My problem on it is, while DC's definitely doing it to make money, I'm not so sure that Cook or JMS aren't just playing a game. And similarly, while Moore is definitely just having fun with LOEG, Top Shelf- and before them, DC, oddly enough- were certainly publishing the comic to

I'm not really sure why that matters, though. Moore himself famously reminded us that these are all "imaginary stories", so I don't grock the important difference between a Captain Nemo story that's "in continuity" and a Comedian story that isn't.

"With his version of theft he's making an entirely unique artistic vision separate"

Continued spoilers…

Dax was kinda like Geordi in TNG- the entire original character concept was just one big "IRONIC?" gimmick. "He's the ship's navigator…BUT HE IS BLIND!" "She is a pretty young girl- BUT ACTS LIKE A WISE OLD MAN!"

A couple more notes along these lines…

I like how your evidence that the episode was bad is…a brief synopsis of the A plot of the episode. Is the problem with M*A*S*H* that it's all about war?

The thing is, in any thing approaching a realistic quasi-military organization, Picard would not have been allowed back to his regular duties for years, if ever, to say nothing of getting back there within a few weeks.

Wow, so after actively LOOKING for it, you were able to grasp TWO WHOLE STRAWS*…and those comments have apparently already been deleted, leaving YOU as the only person posting such insults.

Oh my god, and then you actually went and did that, that is pathetic.

"infinitely more intelligent and gaffe-free Joe Biden. "

"I don't think Obama (or Hillary) would come as well in the other story."

This is going to sound weird, since the recount itself was itself very polarizing, but…I think it's easier to be balanced about that than to be balanced about Sarah Palin.

I think what works is that the pieces of local color are usually accurate, but unimportant, in that they could be anywhere. Everything they say about the Red Sox and Celtics, you could just replace with "Cubs and Bulls" or "Brewers and Bucs" or "Braves and Hawks" and it would work just as well. There's no indication

It's also cool because it's kind of a sad history, y'know? I mean, we're all in agreement that Carla has a crush on Sam, right? She knows it's never going to happen, of course, but like, when she tells Diane that Sam was the father of one of her kids, she's probably wishing as much as she's lying.

I think the studio audience works in Cheers (or at least, isn't as problematic) because they almost function as just more people in the bar. Yeah, they clap a little louder when the gang gets one over on Gary or something, and they get eerily quiet when Sam threatens to fire someone, but that's what the other bar

Agreed. I also think Emissary is really good. It's almost metacommentary on the entire franchise to that point.
