But one thing that we can all agree on — I think — is that Andy Daly is clearly some sort of improv comedy genius. That guy is the very definition of the word "gifted."

I agree that most of the "regular" episodes of Doug Loves Movies are typically pretty enjoyable to listen to, but does anyone actually enjoy listening to the countless 10-15 minute episodes that essentially consist of either the first few minutes of a one of Doug's "interrupted" movie showings or else a recording of…
Agreed. I feel like WTF has been on a very impressive run lately. For a little while there I found myself beginning to back off from regularly listening as soon as the episodes came out and skipping the podcast for weeks at a time, but the output has been so strong over the past several weeks that I find myself…
I'm genuinely surprised that the Iliza Shlesinger episode of You Made it Weird made it into the "Best" section this week. For Christ's sake, there were legitimately long stretches of that episode where no one was even speaking because the guest and host were silently writing messages back and forth to one another. I…
"So, you're the Son of God, right? Tell me, do you feel like you inherited the 'stand-up gene' from your Holy Father?"
I have to admit that what you point out is potentially quite an insightful point. You may be correct, and if you are, that sort of context might render certain aspects of his persona and worldview more understandable. He may even have my sympathy. But he does not have my respect as a comedian, broadcaster, or…
I think I agree. I am familiar enough with Hardwick's work that there are certainly aspects of his diligent, focused approach to work and whatnot that I find highly admirable. He has also now gained the ability to book some pretty impressive guests on his podcast through its popularity, and so I do find myself…
I feel a powerful (some might even say irrationally powerful) hatred for Chris Hardwick. Call me biased (given my previous statement, I obviously am), but I find it very difficult to believe that this would be an enjoyable performance.
I sympathize. I used to listen to that show fairly frequently after the podcast first started (for some of the same reasons that you mentioned), but one day a couple years ago I simply reached my limit and quit. I've never regretted that decision.

Your first mistake was probably listening to the Adam Carolla Show.

Fair enough, but it's not just as if he hasn't gotten around to fitting it into his schedule. By all accounts, Jon Stewart has outright refused requests to appear on the WTF podcast due to some sort of enmity between himself and Marc Maron. It seems like there's some legitimate bad blood there….

Jon Stewart seems to really be one to hold a grudge. See: His ongoing refusal to do Marc Maron's podcast due to some sort of problem between them in the past.

Julie Klausner has some clever moments, to be sure, but overall I tend to find How Was Your Week to be a little too rambling and unfocused for my taste. Plus, if you do not share Julie's fascination with reality television stars, I think it can be difficult to find large segments of her podcast compelling. However, I…

This is exactly right. There's something about Hardwick that absolutely makes my skin crawl. His persona seems so false and calculated. He's probably a nice guy, but I loathe him as a broadcaster.
