Sorry, I was soliciting thoughts on the idea that Milton's motivation for confessing to the governor was to prevent anyone else suffering for his actions.

I realised how awesome he was when at the end of this episode he basically confessed to burning the pits and revealed his intentions to undermine the governor. My read on it was to stop him from accusing anyone else. Thoughts?
