The film cynic in me is rolling its eyes, but the impulse zone is beating her senseless. Sign me up to this ill-fated but soul-satisfying voyage!

This was unfailingly played at every school disco I attended between the ages of 8 and 11. No idea who was responsible for the songlist, but it also invariably included Sex on the Beach and the Macarena so clearly a deranged individual.

True. And if I remember the Dick Van Dyke Show correctly, his brother never even made it out of Missouri during his service. Looks like Jer is the hero after all.

I also loved Mason's "You know, they hide from him at the bank," just because it sounds exactly like something my granny would say about my granddad. Second place from that subplot would be Jerry Van Dyke's excellent response to the comment that he spent the Korean War as a file clerk "There was a lot of tension in

Not sure, but I definitely did watch an episode not long ago where June tells a presumably thrilled Ward that she's just given the Beaver a hot bath.

Mary Kay and Johnny, I think? Although apparently we have to rely on received wisdom for that, as all the original tapes were lost. Must have been pretty hot stuff, though…

I was going to ask about that, actually. I figure there must have been a trick involved there, either with the camera angles or computer tinkering. I'm not massively au fait with the rules concerning child actors, obviously, but it seems likely that having them witness very well simulated sex is a no-no.

That sentence can only be read in Margaret's voice. I applaud you.

Agreed. Am I the only one who got the impression that when Nucky was listening to her and everything went a bit dreamy, that he was thinking of his mother singing the same song?

Also couldn't help but notice that during his conversation with Masseria, Cannavale's Italian accent got heavier and heavier until he was actually just doing an impression of Paul Muni in the original Scarface. Weird and awesome.

This. I rewound it like 3 times just to enjoy that "Eli, you need to keep an eye on this one…" expression. There was a lot of relaxed, warm humour in this installment, unusually good-hearted from a show more comfortable with bloody dicks flapping around murder scenes.
