Yeah, seriously. With this show I tend not to believe someone is dead unless there's some serious heart wrenching music playing in the background. I don't think we've seen the last of Lil Ben.

Ben kind of makes a habit out of not divulging information. I find it perfectly fitting that he would have withheld such important information.

I also felt let down by the Oldham payoff

It's not that I feel a con was ill fitting or unnecessary. Quite the contrary. I think the Losties were lucky that Sawyer was there to formulate a plan when he was. The fact that they're all still living and breathing three years later definitely attests to that. I also agree that it was weak for Jack to assume

I think the real discrepancy is that Sawyer is great at running a con. That's why he's been so successful in Dharmaville, because his plan is essentially an extremely long con. But eventually (next week by the looks of it) a situation is going to arise that's going to call for a more active plan. I'm interested to

I definitely agree. Sawyer likes to think that he's got it all pretty much figured out, but I'm thinking his plans are going to become a lot more "Jack-like" as the heat gets turned up.

People who choose Facebook over Lost deserve a nice long stay in Room 23, in my opinion.

I'm also really interested in what exactly is the connection between Jacob and the Smoke Monster. I wouldn't go so far as to say that Ben can "control" it, however. It's definitely clear that he can summon it, but I think when it gets out it's very much its own beast.

Workman Jack and Lafleur
I wholeheartedly agree with you that I'm really interested to see how the change in leadership dynamic worked out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Jack seemed a bit relieved at the prospect of having so much of the weight taken off of his shoulders.

What do you mean it didn't look like the Swan?
To me it looked a lot like the model we see Pierre Chang with in the orientation video. It was pretty skeletal, but it was definitely the dome structure.

Since when is Ozymandias the villain?
Ozymandias isn't supposed to fit in with them. He was smarter/stronger/more capable than any of the heroes in the book save John. One of the biggest departures between the book and movie Oz's was that book Oz doesn't get tied up into any bitter or emotional bullshit. Movie Oz

The omnipresence of Nixon bothers me more and more now that I think about it. Mainly, I believe it's because Nixon was Snyder's stand-in for most of the more subtle environmental information that the book used to establish its altered American time line.

I'm aware of how the song reflects the cold war nuclear threat paranoia, still it struck me as ill fitting to the visuals that were being presented. As with "All Along the Watchtower" what bothered me wasn't so much the appropriateness of the music choices as how they were presented. It all seemed to smack you in

Did anyone else find the music really jarring?
I have to say I thought the music in this film was all over the place. There were times when he would use songs in order to set the scene for the many time period shifts, but at other times the music was used with no regard to chronology. Two instances that stand out to

Also, it's gratuitously bloody for absolutely no reason. Truly he is a visionary masturbator.

I think he masturbates in slow motion while watching tape of all of his slow motion action scenes.

That's funny, because the pacing of the movie was something that really threw me off, and that I felt was one of the earliest disappointments. Some scenes seemed to drag on forever, surely (and that wasn't helped in any way by the near constant slow motion) but I felt the plot points tumbled out so randomly because

Just think of all the rest of us who will be doing the exact same thing and maybe you won't feel so alone. It's going to be a long two hours and forty-six minutes.

I've got a bad feeling about this
It's interesting that you're so enthusiastic about the movie after hearing how many (in my opinion) significant things seemed to have been changed or left out. I haven't seen the movie yet. I'm going this weekend and my feeling about it is pretty dismal, but I'm reserving my final

I think there's a bit more to it than that. I'm sure there are a lot of dazed survivors from the flight. But Caesar wasn't just idly rummaging, he seemed to have at least some idea of his situation. Hiding the gun just adds to the suspicion.
