I agree. I read his reaction to Skyler's statement that she is waiting for it to come back as slightly amused. It also explains his increasingly reckless behavior. He knows for a fact that he won't be around much longer in any case.

Yeah, I just figure the story takes place "now", whenever "now" is.

I agree. I thought that was a little weak. Hubris or no, Walt isn't that sloppy, and neither is Mike.

I'll use your comment as an excuse to mention that we were definitely in Philip K. Dick territory a couple of episodes ago when we saw Lane forge an impostor's signature.

Megan is also a variant of Margaret.
Pete does read Thomas Pynchon, so culturally he's not a complete cube.
Footwear. Don't make that mistake again.
Speaking of "That Girl", I was watching an episode from its first season a few weeks ago and kept expecting to see Don Draper cruise by in the background.
It hit me at the end of the birthday episode that in 2012 Don Draper will be in his mid to late 80s, assuming he lives that long.
Yeah, I may just be projecting, but I think there was some pretty good acting on Jon Hamm's part in that scene. He didn't really change his facial expression or tone of voice or anything, but I swear you could see Don thinking "that could be my daughter".
