@avclub-774c4a3e756c4d8f28b15a27ed4408c7:disqus Okay, I sort of half understood that, after watching the theme again. Thanks for the effort.

@avclub-774c4a3e756c4d8f28b15a27ed4408c7:disqus Okay, I'm completely musically illiterate and just read the wiki page on "arpeggio" and still don't quite get it. Are you referring to the sequence of string sounding notes that plays (I don't know how else to describe them)?

I don't remember much of AvP, but it would take quite a lot for a movie to exceed Prometheus's aggressive, offensive stupidity.

There are too many fucking -punks.

@Prankster36:disqus Given Earths near annihilation in the Earth Minbari war it's implausible to me that Earth society and politics is not more fucked up and toxic than it already is. I mean, the human race has just come within a hair's breadth of extinction and it still takes 10 years for a fascist coup to happen?

Second wife? Who is his….. oh.

I've heard other people say they didn't like Galen as well. I dunno, I've always liked him. What were your issues with him?

ItB is definitely the best of the movies, and between season 4 and 5 is a good place to slot it.

Yeah, the whole "slow turning to camera" thing is incredibly cheesy. The fact that the heads are superimposed over mini jump points doesn't help either.

Still Cheesy. But yes, the S3 credits are the best of the show. I love the vaguely industrial sound it has.

I've always loved the Jack the Ripper thing. It's a nice reminder that the Vorlons have been around for a long time. It also provides some insight into Vorlon methods and philosophy. The fact that they have Jack the FUCKING Ripper working for them says quite a lot. Also the show refrains from actually saying "Jack the

The space battle is also one of the early examples we get of just how technologically advanced the Centauri are over the Earth Alliance. The Centauri ship is splitting it's fire between the Narn ship, the fighter squadron and the station itself, and it still breaks through the stations interceptors very quickly. I

@avclub-767108ece09e429a9276387de4cb95a0:disqus I thought they explained the mechanics of what was happening pretty well in the episode. Sheridan's core->rimward velocity is not very high, but the shell of the station is moving at 60MPH(?) relative to him. So hitting the ground would be like falling out of a car on a

How's Annie?

Species 8472 seem to be an amalgam of off-brand Shadows and off-brand Vorlons. The creatures themselves are vaguely reminiscent of Shadows (with the multiple limbs), while their ships are strongly  reminiscent of Vorlon ships.

Oh, I wasn't intending to give Voyager a pass on this. I'm not at all fond of it. I was only intending to comment on the merits of the premise, and you're right that other shows have implemented it far better. I think the difference with those other shows is that the writers actually gave a shit. With Voyager, pretty

In the same way that the Enola Gay "accidentally" presided over the destruction of Hiroshima.
