I read a review of "Sixteen Candles" before I saw it which complained about the Chinese Kid and the date rape. I don't think anybody wrote or talked about the Movie without mentioning that shit. But in those days it was more "This Movie is fucked up!" while today it's "America is The Third Reich!".
