The Cramps certainly made an impression! And some of the bands were jokes. But it was a chance to see XTC perform "Respectable Street". I'm with you on this movie.

This feature
I have to say that Fridays are a bummer here at the AV Club for me because I think this feature ran out of steam after about week 3. I mean, isn't it basically the same thing week after week after week? Essentially, What do you Really Like or, occasionally, What do you Really Hate? And then people whip…
Too easy, erm, Cuntnugget. Great name, though.
Did I ever tell you guys about the time Al Capp made me French toast?

You won't believe this, but I remember it was a BIG DEAL when my family got our first CALCULATOR. Yup. A couple years later they were giving them away for free with a cup of coffee.

There is only one thing in the world worse than being witty, and that is not being witty.
German episodes
Definitely worth seeking out, especially the one they do in German. Silly Olympics originated there, but the stuff with Albrecht Drurer is very funny. Some of the other stuff wound up their LPs, but there are some unknown gems in there from their best period (between season 2 and 3).
4th season sans Cleese, tough to defend. Moments here and there ("Give me another meatball, and I'll tell you where Mr. Neutron is!"), but not real good.
I don't care how fucking runny it is, hand it over with all speed.
At least I don't work for Jews!
Nah, you'll never find a bigger original Python fan than me (see credentials above), but I find Brian to be slightly tedious, no doubt with many classic scenes. For sheer yuks, Grail is their best movie.
He had a complete breakdown during the scene in which they approached the old man at the bridge - freaked out about the narrow path, and then was unable to cross the bridge, which he said he could because, ironically, he was a mountaineer. Had to get a double to do the bridge-crossing scene. DTs, the shakes, etc.
Gumby: "(singing) Only make-believe, you love me…"
