I'm hoping he meant all the series except season one and two… mostly just two.

But this was not about being woman or a man, but about being attractive or not. Penny gets away with it because it is said that she is "really hot", and Leonard doesn't because "he is the clunky nerdy guy".
Sheldon has always been known for recurring to passionate, if skewed attitude towards things, especially for ones that are very close to his heart.

Completely different people with completely desires. The writers have not only shown it in the sitcom, but they have also said it in interviews. The difference between Amy and Sheldon is that Amy is open to the possibilities, and Sheldon is completely fine how he is. Also out of all the stages we have gotten of Amy as…

I couldn't disagree more with you. But to each their own I guess.

I understand the concept behind that one, what I don't understand is the clear, very obvious concept and regard Sheldon has towards punishment and you saying that somehow relates to physical closeness.

The thing is, the writers conveniently brought it up because they wanted to "move forwards their relationship". Everyone forgot it was punishment because Amy gave it another meaning.

It reminded my of another poster I saw, and maybe writers were kind of writing up Sheldon that way for the viewers to erase any sympathy they might have for Sheldon because he is such an asshole! He deserves for his girlfriend to lie to him and use him to fulfill her sexual fantasies!!

I think it's disheartening to see Amy lying to Sheldon about the spanking and thus involving him into a sexual act without his consent or even his knowledge being completely ignored. Like a poster at another board said, it's almost like indulging in voyeuristic behaviour with children that don't know any better.

How could a sane human being think punishment is somehow related to physical closeness? How can Sheldon think Amy needs more physical intimacy thus he is going to punish her? How is he going to relate something his dad did to punish his brother as something to enhance physical closeness?

He has being around sick people before Amy came into the show.
