These are damaged people.
The slaves have simply suffered too much at the hands of the Romans.
So their attempts to fight, to have "vengeance" will always be too personal.

The reason is perhaps, simple.

There's no way Spartacus can win, no matter how many slaves he frees.

Because it's there, from the start.

I would take the cowards way out and flee from Rome.

Actually, I would have called it quits and fled to the mountains.

From the start, we notice the ride will not be pretty.

I was wrong

I remember making it a bigger deal back then

so it's not that huge a deal

But 3 episodes in and I'm already engaged with it

It takes a bit to adapt to a new Spartacus

The first episode is alright.

with a fresh set of eyes

I knew I could not speak about Vengeance without watching it again

I'm watching VENGEANCE now.
