yeah, post hiatus 3rd season premiered at 2.2 and ended at 1.3 and the 4th season premiered to a 1.9 and also ended at 1.3. Although at this point, getting a 1.3 would probably make Community NBC's highest rated comedy of the night.

My understanding is that one of the stipulations for Sony selling The
Blacklist to NBC was that Community (also produced by Sony) would get
renewed. Since the show was already coming back Joel McHale had more leverage because NBC couldn't afford another drop in quality and ratings that would follow his exit.
