They absolutely do not have disclose it. In the show's contract, they reserve the right to change things about the game in progress, which is a necessity when you're trying to produce a TV show in live conditions (people quit, get sick, weather disrupts plans, etc). Survivor is not subject to game show laws.

We got 14 episodes of the new firm, LG vs Florrick/Agos, Peter's election fraud, instead of 14 episodes of Will looking to move on or fighting cancer or getting involved in something…
