I haven't yet seen this, although I remember reading this review several years ago and being fascinated by it. Maybe bittorrent time, if I can't get it on iTunes.

Stopped watching after he punches the checkout girl and starts philosophizing (and never bothered to revisit the movie). Do directors really think that audiences really think that regular people actually talk like this bullshit?

No, this is too serious and harsh: this movie is a dumb-fun popcorn spectacle. It has a magnetic attraction for me, I will watch it every time on TV.

Never thought I would like a movie like this: was dragged to see it … On DVD. Loved it. Really good.
