That was Killian, of course, who got off a few good lines tonight. It was good to see him even though they haven't done much with him over the two seasons. He's just the odd kid who lives next door.

Yeah, this episode reminded me of "Fists and Feet and Stuff" several times.
"Relationships are tough, Jimmy. My mom has a new boyfriend, my dad won't stop crying. He's been playing 'Hurdy Gurdy Man' on repeat for days. It's really scary."
Then when Gretchen said, "I'll be out by the time you get back. Have fun, you deserve it. Whoever she is," it felt like getting hit by a two by four. Damn.
Yeah. Knowing Lindsay (and the look on her face when Amy said that) I imagined a number of gross possibilities.
So many moments. i.e. The scene with Lindsay and Amy was quite well done. First, I like how they set it up like Lindsay was going to talk to Paul, then I really loved how they shot it to reveal Lindsay being next to Amy like a super-villain, wine glass in hand.
Upon re-watch I was reminded of a great random line from Edgar about Jimmy: "He saw a bad production of Caucasian Chalk Circle once, it ruined his entire summer."
The pillow/blanket tent is something I still do for my wife from time to time. We still get a good laugh out of it. So yeah, how could seeing that little fort Jimmy made for Gretchen not make your heart turn to goo?
#blessed indeed.
Or "Not Moby" from the How I Met Your Mother episode "The Limo." And I did not have to look that up, tv geek that I am. (Season 1 at that. That was like 2005. Damn time flies.)
Aya just nails it every fucking time. Gretchen is so messed up but all you want to do is cry and give her a hug.
I should've known from the quick promo after the episode two weeks ago (showing Jimmy horrified by Nina's feet) would be Jimmy's out for not sleeping with her, and it in turn created the "meet me at 5" ticking clock device which gave the episode some extra tension.
I quickly saw where the joke was going too, but Sam's little grin at the end was so fucking funny.
Your points are well made and I agree that I think the kind of frustration you feel at Gretchen's actions are what they were going for. Clearly she's been thought treatment and meds before and for whatever reason just can't take it anymore. They even established all the drugs and pills she was snorting weren't even…
The Moby line had me in hysterics. I have no idea why.
Damn, that was great. Even the little misdirect with Jimmy and the pillow wasn't as dark as it may have been intended because we know Jimmy was not going to physically harm her. And damn if Aya doesn't have great eyes.
Bialik has really been given some good beats to play and she's done extremely well. Amy (and Mayim) is a big reason I still watch the show. (In contrast, it seems that after they got married, they have no idea what to do with Leonard and Penny.)
Oh my God that was the moment of the season. Aya's eyes were like a shark's: unblinking, vacant, and scary as hell.
Holy shit- just… Holy Shit! That was a rough ride. When Gretchen blankly pulled out the gun, I got chills. When Jimmy was with Nina at the end I was yelling, "Don't do it!" knowing full well he would. Just brutal stuff. (Also, Vernon is more nuts than we though he was and Becca is an irredeemable bitch. At least…
It must be difficult to be the asshole of an anecdote when the other person is Larry David.
