What? How dare people and their experiences can't be put in little cliched boxes.

"Hey Aziz! What's it like to have a unique perspective on what it means to be an American, you bag of shit!"

Raiders of the Lost Bowel Control

Indiana Jones and the Temple of … What Were We Talking About?

I'm starting to think that a lot of people in Hollywood took the concept of the C Montgomery Burns Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence seriously.

…and it's about time Meryl Streep got an award in recognition of her acting. Thank you, British Academy, you have righted a decades old wrong.

A truly horrifying payoff. It's currently in development for a film adaptation (probably not for the first time), but I have no idea how you stretch it out to feature length, unless you expand on the backstory, but all that's really beside the point. It was a short story for a reason, after all.

I agree about Nina's voice. When she first talked I though it was Gretchen fucking with Jimmy for a second.

Actually, I would imagine Paul would've been into Halloween and generous with the candy in years past (although I'm not sure how long they've been married and in that house, but it has to be a few years at least). Anyway, it was a good visual.

Oh my God, this is so good.

I care about the new James Bond film about as much as Daniel Craig does. Actually maybe a little more, which still isn't all that much.

"Hey, we all get overwhelmed. If a problem seems too big try breaking it up into smaller chunks. It's called 'chunking.' There's a really great TED talk about it."

Put me down for Gay Wolverine.

Given they went to the trouble to (literally) wedge the word "New" into the title, you're probably correct in that this was, at least at some early stage of the game, meant as a possible series (the original series was popular in syndication at the time). Jones' "guest" credit pretty much confirms it.

But where's the Corvette Summer Luke?

The indie song montages were so spot on I was laughing so much. The timing, the beats, the editing, oh my God that was perfect.

"You ready? Now when the voice comes on an asks you what you want, you say, 'Operator.' Then they'll do this thing where the say 'while you wait, what is the nature of your problem?' That's a trick, just say, 'Operator' again."

Upon reflection it is also quite possible that Jimmy knew deep down that what he was trying was bullshit, but he just had to believe it could work to make him feel better about the situation. Maybe I'm reading a bit much into it, but there is no way that Jimmy can truly believe Gretchen is "cured."

He's in the difficult position of wanting to do something about it, and not really understanding what the "it" is. I can definitely relate because if such a bombshell were dropped on me, I'd probably try to do the same thing. Maybe I wouldn't be so smug about it, but I could definitely see falling into such a trap.

"Excuse me, sir. I don't mean to be too forward but you have caught me with your Hook. You're at the top of my Schindler's List. My loins are Terminal-y Always The Color Purple for you. So please, open your Jaws and make out with me. Munich."
