Gee, I hope that carpet was Scotchgarded.

"Well, we hit a little snag when the universe sort of collapsed on itself. But dad seemed cautiously optimistic."

He was a zombie?

As a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball, but tonight I say, we must move forward, not backward, upward not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.

"Look, some of the ghouls and I are a little concerned the project isn't moving forward."

"Dad, we did something very bad"
"Did you wreck the car?"
"No."
"Did you raise the dead?"
"Yes."
"But the car's OK?"
"Uh-huh."
"All right then."

"That doll tried to kill me!"
"I'd say the pressure has finally gotten to Dad, but what pressure?

Don't talk to me like I'm other people.

You're just a "Man out of Thread"?

Trust has so many gems. The album closer "Big Sister's Clothes" being one of the best and weirdest (I loved how the producer credit read: "Nick Lowe not responsible for this one.")

I think chronologically is the best way to go through Costello, particularly from 1977-1986. Then there was what I think of "Phase II" of his career, which started in 1989 with Spike and started to get rather eclectic. I lean towards Mighty Like a Rose and Brutal Youth, also my favorite song he wrote with/for someone

"That Day is Done" is my favorite song on Flowers in the Dirt. It's kind of great hearing what are obviously Costello turns of phrase sung by McCartney.

Oh I just don't know where to begin…

Mos Eisley K-Mart. You will never find a more wretched hive of passe and tacky clothes. We must make cautious fashion choices.

You don't need to see the brand tags.

Then there was the "Rebels Only" line of jackets worn mostly by douchebags. But at least they were anti-empire douchebags.

I watched the episode again, and was really struck by how sweet and funny that opening scene was, even with the spectre of Gretchen's "problem" mildly in the air.

Hey hey, come on, don't do that. Look, I'm just dealing with a lot of crap right now, Death Star blown up by a bunch of fucking teenagers, you know?

The best is still Kether's iPhone commercial from a few years back:

What the hell is an aluminum falcon!!??
