The "tickler/stickler" was a Family Guy gag.

If he got a wake-up call on a certain day we wouldn't even be talking about him now.

John DiMaggio (voice of Bender) made a doc called I Know That Voice and the only major people to turn him down were Tress McNeil and Welker, and that's two people he'd worked with for years, so they must really not be interested.

This is brilliant! I love the idea of figuring out what made the original work and then not doing that.

The East Side Story I know is an album by Squeeze. You know, the one with "Tempted" on it that's not a best of.

"We were like Romeo and Juliet, but we ended in tragedy."

Either that or both die horribly in a transporter accident.

I always thought The Simpsons parody, while slightly amusing, was unnecessary, as the real thing is much funnier.

I think you are reading a bit too much into it. It's just a rather simple and obvious joke about a particular theatrical convention, They do the same thing with sitcom, commercial, music video, and sketch conventions as well. It's pretty much a big part of what they do, and I don't doubt for a second it's done out of

The way it all turns on James Wilson's desire for anonymity was a brilliant resolution. It may not have happened exactly that way historically, but the general point being made is very appropriate. An extraordinary show indeed.

And hey, I got I laugh when I brought up deep sea fishing rights.

From what I read Harrison had to sing live because he couldn't lip sync to his talk-sing style.

North Carolina respectfully yields to South Carolina.

I definitely agree. I am so tired of the notion that Sullivan somehow popularized The Beatles in America when in point of fact they were already a hit in America, and having them on his show was one of the most blindingly obvious things to do.

I agree that Harrison is somewhat dull and that the film drags in places. So of course the film won Oscars for Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Picture (The Academy really liked the big budget musicals of the 60's, awarding 4 best pictures to musicals in the decade.)

Bears will always be #1 on the Threatdown. Because they are Godless Killing Machines.

One of my favorite bits that stuck in my mind was fairly random:

Excellent choice!

It is crazy that the show was basically inspired by a couple O'Reilly Factor parody promos done on The Daily Show back in 2003.

I liked what came just before the "Hot damn" which is what made it that much more hilarious:
