I was basing it on how extra glow-y he was and the fact that he was able to protect Kevin from Crowley, the idea that archangels can defend prophets. Basically I just think it would be cool if he had some kind of upgraded angel status so it's less of a theory and more of wishful thinking.

So was Cas upgraded to an Archangel?
I loved this episode, probably my favorite of the season so far and not just because Cas is back(but that does account for a large portion of my enjoyment.)
I like the idea of the flashbacks being unreliable, it's an interesting direction and I hope they run with it.

I think that's going to end up being a secondary theme for this season. Now I'm questioning all of Dean's flashbacks and all of Sam's flashbacks. Their could be flaws or falsehoods in all of the flashbacks we've seen so far and I think that's pretty cool.

I don't know what to think or how to feel anymore.

I watched it for the first time in this weekend, in celebration of Sesame Street's birthday. This is so fucking depressing.

I like Garth okay but calling him the new Bobby? Not cool, too soon, etc.

I continue to be bored with Sam's storyline. I'm sure it's going somewhere but everything that happened in Purgatory is way more interesting to me.
Dean summed it up pretty well in the first episode when he told Kevin: "Cliff notes? I went to Purgatory, Sam hit a dog."

I enjoyed this episode. I'm still not sold on the Sam storyline but I'm trying to be patient. All I want is to see more of Purgatory.

Episode summaries for this season can answer your question but I don't want to spoil you(or anyone else.)
I enjoy the flashbacks but I'm ready to find out what happened already.

Yeah, it's a whole thing.

Yeah, it's a whole thing.

I thought the episode was alright, definitely better than 'Heartache.'
