A Rip Torn movie actually popped into my head when I saw this list. It has been ages since I saw it but I remember Heartland being very affecting. Conchita Ferrell (I think that was her name) is the mail order bride of Torn's high plains farmer. It does a nice job of showing how shared hardship evolves into love.

I loved almost everything about this episode especially Roslyn's kickass defiance speech. But I hate-hate-hated that they had Zarek assassinate the Quorum. What makes this show great is the moral ambiguity of the choices the characters make. Zerek had pretty damn good motive in not wanting to align himself with
