I don't care too much for The Exterminating Angel or Viridiana. I found those movies a tad obnoxious, as if Bunuel was going out of his way to be noticed. I much prefer his later period, where his surrealist tendencies were more muted and just an organic part of the story.
Tristana reportedly was one of the movies

That SG put down is just beautiful. SG is good at that, refracting the show's language for his own purposes.

Thumbs up, way up. way, way up on the Peep Show. Along with Community the best sitcom in the world, as far as I'm concerned. It is fucking awesome.

I would say Community, Mad Men and probably Archer. I love Parks and Rec, but it is just way too by the book for it to be a serious competitor for Community. It is one of the most reliable and pleasurable half hours out there, but I have found a lot of it to bleed together into an amorphous whole without very many

The most offensive thing about the second half of season 2 is that it is just utterly boring and facile. There are a few nice moments, like Agent Mulder showing up as detective who functions in drag, but apart from that, it is just utterly unremarkable in every way. There's no tension, no colour, no pulse, but then it

I personally find The Dark Knight unwatchable, with the exception of Heath Ledger. It is cinematically very weak.

Since my Top 5 music topic garnered quite a bit of interest
and I found people’s expositions so fascinating and passionate, I’m gonna
extend it to a Top 10 list, especially since so many folks said that a Top 5
list to whittle one’s musical obsessions down to is really tough. So unless
everyone shot their wads on the Top

You're kidding right, Stephen? OK Computer is musically and compositionally so beyond anything else in the last 20 odd years or so (with the exception perhaps of Vegan Black Metal Chef) that I find your statement of it merely being OK (unless it was meant sarcastically) quite strange, taking into account your

My favorite album has been OK Computer for nigh on 14 years. I have a relationship with that album that is stronger than most of my personal relationships.

I love Exile as well. Rocks Off gets my vote as the greatest opening track of all time.

I'm particularly interested in The World. That Jia Jhangke, isn't it?
