Wut.
I watched Slacker on Netflix or Hulu recently, and I swear to Dog the cut I saw was not the same cut I remember from college. What gives? Bong resin?
We gave up on this show about halfway through last season. We were latecomers, only starting in around season 5, but seriously… just couldn't handle any more dawdling. I'll probably watch the very last episode, or wait for the "must see these episodes" list and catch up on Netflix.
Sigh.
No, I'm just mad he didn't like a movie I thought was pretty great. I'm a selfish harpie like that.
This is one of those shows I watch simply because it SHOULD be great, and it occasionally is.
90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Solid word of mouth reports.Based on an almost unbelievable true story.
It's about sports directed by Ron Howard.
Bee Minus.
One of the most disappointing movies in recent memory. I had the same feeling in my gut watching it as I did watching The Phantom Menace.
The Newsroom had potential to be great. Maybe not The Wire or even Justified or Mad Men great, but dammit, it COULD have been an exciting, engaging and maybe even important show about journalism, the state of discourse int he country, politics, civility, awareness, personal accountability, etc. Instead it seems happy…

I broke it out the other day. Hadn't listened to it in a few years. Listened to it four times in a row. Stupefying.
The Duke. How could you forget The Duke when mentioning novelty rap records from '83. Geez.

Justified got to nominations.
The best bit of dialogue in the movie is between Dwight Yoakum and Lucas Black, having to do with whether or not salad dressing will be used.

I was friends with the co-owner's brother (the brother of Rosie Frager, Arne Frager's wife) and we'd made the 1,000 mile road trip to see the studio, pitch our demos, and make some connections. The Plant was…
Have the people calling the new season a failure ever watched Arrested Development? Do they know how it works?
The show begins with an amusing premise, some clever dialogue, some wacky antics. By the last episode of the season, it's a freaking clown car of callbacks and multi-layered jokes that would have Richard Pryor…
If only Ted had held onto Alfa Romeo…
"As good as a car can be… briefly."
"Secondly, which car do you think the agencies are pitching for?"
