I think I'm seven episodes in (maybe eight), and I'm still struggling with the why…Why is any of this important for me to see? It's too focused on the events to be simply a character study. It's too focused on drama and gossip to be a look at the devious machinations of Congress. There's no large plotline helping

At least they had the sense to have Underwood playing a game a few episodes back (It was Battlefield or Call of Duty or something, and he had headphones on and his wife came over). There was also a mention from his wife at one point, to another person, that she would die if people found out he likes playing those

The best part of  her getting fired was that the torturous newsroom scenes are finally over (at least I hope). Holy shit was the dialogue outdated and staid. And that interview was fucking cringe-worthy.

Wow. That's impressive.

"For the most part, I was genuinely taken aback and also a bit impressed
by the decision to make Elizabeth the loyal soldier and Phillip the
softer one. It seemed like a bit of role reversal since it would seem
more the automatic choice to make the wife the "family first" character
and the husband the one to tow the

"Kind of" annoying is kind. Every time I read/hear/see anything from her that isn't a song, I want to punch her in the face. She's an imbecile. Just shut up, put out music, then go away.

This show generally uses violence well though. When it happens, it's rough and horrific because violence is just that - rough and horrific. And we often get to see some consequences for it as well. The violence isn't thrown in there just for the wow factor of having a shootout or someone's body mutilated.

Actually in the office itself wasn't terrible, but it was exaggerated. And that main boss guy, don't remember his name, he was actually great. My favorite new characters from S5. Wish we could have gotten more from him.

Why can't James Badge Dale get more roles? Every he pops up on flim (24, Rubicon, The Departed, The Pacific) I'm happy to see him and he seems to do a solid job. Yet he's rarely in anything.

@avclub-c1bac1d55ebcc415d61552acbfbb219d:disqus I love this topic. There was also the issue of where to strike at Russia. Hitler opted to go for the capital - a farther journey and one that, without proper supply roads, would be even more difficult. There's the idea that if he would have worked his way in slower and

Yeah, I wouldn't call it super memorable. There weren't any really unique jaw-dropping action set pieces that you get your adrenaline pumping just thinking about it. But nothing about the movie is truly bad, I would say. There's nothing to actively dislike about it, and there are a few chuckle-worthy moments.

Live Free or Die Hard is pretty solid. Not a great action movie, but it's certainly above average. Willis is fun, Justin Long is decent as the comic foil, and Timothy Olyphant is a solid bad guy. Nothing you'll regret watching.

The actual fighting is like Bourne-lite. Very physical feeling, rough, like it's going to make you achey the next day just from watching it.
It's edited a bit cleaner than Bourne, of course, but it's got that same vibe.

I got about halfway through Raylan, and I had the same problem with it that this site's review did: The show is a much more realized version of the world than the book is, but they're still so close that it's hard not to compare the two. And the TV shows tends to win.

@avclub-3f045a0e66373bfbdf36eeedd4ab3509:disqus got this one right. "Right," not "ride."

I think it doesn't help that the first recurring black character they introduce had a nickname that's about as generaically stereotypical as you can get, which stands out even mroe when nobody else had a nickname. He also seemed to get less lines on the show than anybody else (which is a true feat considering how few

I hope Rick just needs sleep. Lack of sleep can make you hallucinate in like 50 hours, and I think Rick is going on…about 200 hours.

I was a bit confused when Rick was trying to decide if they should let Tyrese and co. in. And someone said, "Well what about Axel and T-Dog 2.0?" And Rick's response was an angry (of course), "Yeah and look what happened to T-dog 2.0!"
